When you are just starting out in GvG, you are surely going to lose a lot. Are these records, ranks, and ratings reset every so often ? Is this what they refer to by new seasons and resetting the guild ladder ?

So, let's say your guild loses their first 10 GvG's. At some point, will they be reset to 0 - 0, so as they get better, the learning curve won't also be held against them ?

I understand the rating mechanic where you earn and lose points by winning and losing, and you get more by beating higher rated teams, etc, but I would like to know about the "starting over" part and how often, if this is the case.

Yep, every so often, they do indeed reset the ladder. All your ratings go back to 0, and you start fresh.

I think it's once a month, but I don't PvP often enough to be sure.

Every "season" resets the rating at the beginning. Also, the records on the ladder on GW only shows records for that season. Past seasons aren't held against you. : )
